The latest and definitive version of a game which marked an epoch.

Golden Axe marked an epoch in the video game scene in the 1990s, and Golden Axe 3 is the third and final installment of the series, in which the action mixes with an RPG style.

As with the ring in Lord of the Rings, the Golden Axe in this game is a talisman around which is built the whole story. As in the previous two games, in Golden Axe 3 you have to find the "axe", and with it have to fight beasts and demons.

The trouble is that Damud Hellbringer, Prince of Darkness, has bewitched all the warriors but one. You will be fortunate enough to be that warrior in Golden Axe 3, and your first mission is to free your fellow warriors. Most of the game in Golden Axe 3 responds to a side-scrolling action, complementing those dynamics with melee fights.
